When it comes to dangerous invasive species, let’s face it, there are a lot of bugs. But who are we kidding about which species on earth is the most destructive? What if it is us? What if it was us all along? What if we were so dangerous we were the aliens banished to this planet, unwanted everywhere?

Those are the nightmare thoughts that aren’t entirely out of the realm of possibilities. We are the most invasive species inhabiting earth. OK, well, maybe I’m overthinking, overreacting, and out there in thinking about all of this.

In the wee hours, my wandering mind is a lot like that stubborn place where my hair wants to part opposite of what I want. It’s not a welcomed great hair day, nor are those intrusive thoughts welcome. But I’m stuck with them both so I roll with them.

Must have been yesterday’s green chili enchiladas hangover with seconds, whose portions were out of control. It started with remembering Carl Sandburg’s poem about locusts. Here’s the poem I woke up
