Your actions or failure to act have consequences and Karma always bites back. If I learned anything in my lifetime it’s this one fundamental truth. Karma is a seed, planted by our actions (or sometimes failures to act), whose fruits will be savored not only by us, but also by the generations yet to come.

Take a peek into my septuagenarian poetic remembrance of some 54 years in the making of what it’s like to really “own your own karmic bites in the rear.” Karma may have had the last laugh, but at least I’ll have the last word.

What it was, we may never know
Lost in vague memories of long ago
A self-made prison, a karmic bite in the rear.

Choosing the high road, but with passive-aggressive tears
I knew your secrets, still keep them today
